YoungBoy NeverBrokeAgain - "I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders" (Album)
The Baton Rouge rapper released his new album, I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders, on Friday, December 6, and already the songs are dominating the YouTube music trending chart. The project was released under his own label, Never Broke Again, and Motown Records, the label he signed a deal with last year. The album is the follow-up to his 2023 project, Don’t Try This at Home, released in April last year.
This marks one of the longest gaps between NBA YoungBoy’s album releases. His numerous legal troubles might’ve played a role in fans waiting over a year and a half for a new project, but thankfully, that drought is over. Five songs made it onto the YouTube Trending Music chart leading up to the release, with three songs in the top 10, a clear sign that YB is still quite popular on the platform. Still, Juice WRLD’s “Empty Out Your Pocket” is the number one song on the chart.
I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders features 16 tracks, including the bonus single “Tears of War.” The project has no guest features, seeing YoungBoy going it alone on singles like “Catch Me,” “Versace Shades,” “Blood On My Soul,” and “Missing Everything.”
YoungBoy Never Broke Again, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, is currently serving a 27-month prison sentence after copping a plea deal on four counts of felony identity fraud and felony forgery in Utah. Gaulden pleaded no contest to the remaining charges against him, which include forgery, pharmacy fraud, and identity fraud. The judge sentenced him to 27 months to be served in federal prison and five years of probation to be served after his release.
NBA YoungBoy had numerous legal troubles since around 2020 when he was arrested in Louisiana on charges of firearm possession by a convicted felon. The rapper and several members of his crew were taken into custody while shooting a music video. - via UrbanIslandz
